The Course
Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital Ltd School of Nursing conducts a GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY COURSE in accordance with the syllabus and regulations laid down by the West Bengal Nursing Council. The students are selected on the basis of a written competitive examination.

The Duration
The course starts from 1st September and spreads over three academic years – two years in General Nursing and one year in Midwifery and Community Health Nursing and six months of internship period.

The Eligibility
Only single and unmarried female candidates may apply.
Candidates aged between 18 and 25 years are eligible for admission.
Minimum qualification for considering an application is at least second division pass in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by Govt. of West Bengal or its equivalent, preferably in Science Stream. Knowledge of English is necessary for all candidates.
Candidates shall be a citizen of India and a resident of West Bengal for atleast five years preceding the date of submitting their application for admission in the school.

Selection & Admission
The eligible candidates desirous of seeking admission to Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital Ltd School of Nursing could collect Application Forms from Matron’s Office at Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital Ltd Hospital, 8/5, Alipore Road, Kolkata 700027.
Form can be procured by post through Demand Draft along with the postal address of the candidate for getting the prospectus.

The written test will be conducted in English for General Knowledge, General Science, Mathematics, English Language and Aptitude.
The Admission Test & thereafter personal Interview for the selected candidates will be conducted at the Nursing School at Bhasa, Plot No. 14, P.O. Bishnupur, Diamond Harbour Road, 24 Parganas (South), Pin – 743503

Uniforms & Text Books
Students are required to be in uniforms as will be prescribed by the Hospital. Uniforms are of two types – Hospital & Community uniforms. The uniforms viz. tunics, belts, aprons, Salwar Kameez, text books and note books will be supplied by the school. Payment will be done by the students. Items issued to the students free of cost will have to be returned to the institution after completion of 31/2 years training. All students should buy white Salwar Kameez and white shoe for sports dress.

Discipline
Students will abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Hospital laid down in the RULES AND REGULATIONS – 1999 and the Rules and Regulations of the Hostel.

Compulsory Service
All students shall have to sign a Bond at the time of admission for serving this Institution for a period of 31/2 years on successful completion of their training. A consolidated salary will be paid during this Bond period.

Admission for the next session of the GNM course will start from 12th August 2010
Session starts from 15th September 2010
Eligibility: 10+2 (bio science preferred)
Age: Between 17 and 30 years                                       

Prospectus: Available from the Nursing Supdt.'s Office at Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital Ltdands Medical Centre Ltd. from 12th August to 2nd September 2010 on payment of Rs.250/- by cash/DD/MO in favour of Woodlands Medical Centre Ltd.
